A flood warning has been issued for Macclesfield and Bollington following rainfall from Storm Bella.

The warning has been in place most of today in low lying areas of the River Bollin and will go on into Monday 28 December. Residents are urged to be prepared for potential flooding.

The Environment Agency said: "Current forecasts are expecting the river level to peak at approximately 1.1m around 21:00 tonight at the Bollington Mill river gauge.

"Our incident response staff are monitoring river levels, and will issue further updates where necessary."

Wilmslow and Knutsford are also among the areas affected by the warning.
