Former Lloyds bank in Macclesfield set to become a restaurant

The former Lloyds Bank building in Macclesfield looks set to become a restaurant.
Mr A Ghanbari wants to convert the ground floor for use as a café/restaurant with offices and function room above.
An application has been submitted to Cheshire East Council for a certificate of lawful proposed use or development for the Mill Street property.
A planning statement submitted on behalf of the applicant by Smashbox Architecture says: "The site comprises a two-storey commercial building located on Mill Street in Macclesfield town centre.
"The premises were last in lawful use as a bank...
"The building is not listed and does not lie within a conservation area.
"The proposed works are internal in nature and do not involve operational development requiring planning permission."

Lloyds closed its Macclesfield branch at the end of January this year.
It said visits to the bank had reduced as more customers use online banking or the mobile app.
A decision on the proposal for the building will be made by a planning officer under delegated authority.
