General Election 2024: Labour lead in Macclesfield Nub News readers’ poll
The Labour Party could be elected in Macclesfield for the first time come July 5, according to the results of a Nub News Readers' General Election 2024 poll.
The independent readers survey of Nub News newsletter subscribers found 55.51 per cent of readers would vote for Labour's Tim Roca, if the election was held today.
This Nub News readers poll also indicated Reform UK had narrowly taken over the Conservatives in Macclesfield, with Reform's candidate Stephen Broadhurst achieving 18.22 per cent of the vote in second place.
Reform UK will be on the ballot paper in Macclesfield for the first time on July 4.
David Rutley of the Conservatives, came in third, receiving 15.68 per cent. David Rutley won the 2019 General Election with 52.5 per cent of the readers' vote.
In fourth place for this Nub News readers' poll, was the Independent candidate Christopher Wellavize with 4.24 per cent. 2024 is Mr Wellavize's first run for parliament.
According to this Nub News readers' poll, Amanda Iremonger took fifth place.
The Green Party candidate has not run for parliament in Macclesfield before, and in this readers' poll finished with 3.39 per cent of the vote.
In sixth place, was Neil Christian, the Liberal Democrat candidate.
Neil has stood for parliament in Macclesfield twice before, and in this Nub News readers poll received 2.54% of the readers' vote.
In seventh place, was Dickie Fletcher, the Social Democratic Party Candidate, with 0.42 per cent of the readers' vote.
It is the first time the Social Democratic Party has stood for parliament in Macclesfield.

Macclesfield Nub News polled 236 newsletter subscribers between 3:15pm on Wednesday June 12 and midnight on Thursday 14 June. Readers were only able to register a single vote for one of the eight candidates. Results were not weighted demographically.
