A couple on a mission to visit every pub around the country have enjoyed their time in Macclesfield, after visiting 15 venues in the town.

Dale and Holly Harvey of The Great British Pub Crawl, visited Macclesfield on Friday December 22.

Mad Friday didn't put off these hospitality champions, who are on a mission to visit every pub in Britain.

The Nottingham-based couple have spent 636 days (not consecutive) visiting pubs across Britain, and have visited 2378 pubs across Britain following their Macclesfield visit.

The couple, who recorded a YouTube video documenting the support of town centre pubs, admitted "They didn't know anything about Macclesfield" before visiting.

They started their evening at Fiveclouds on Market Place, and ended with their 15th pub of the night which was The Elbow Room on Wood Street.

Along the way, their personal highlights were The Jolly Sailor and The Snowgoose (particularly for the Wincle Brewery beer Lord Lucan).

They even gave a perfect 10/10 rating to Mill Street pub The Shamrock Bar, which they revealed was one of the best Irish pubs they have ever been in, being complimentary of its atmosphere and friendliness.

The couple later told their 18,000 Facebook followers "You really don't have to walk far in Macclesfield to find yet another quality bar."

They went on to describe Macc as a "phenomenal little town with variety far and wide."

"Some of the Craft Beer/Tap Rooms in 'Macc' are beyond excellent and the people everywhere in the town are polite, friendly and fun loving," they said.

"The train station is smack bang in the centre of town and makes the pubs very easily accessible, the cobbled streets are beautiful and whether you are looking for old and historic pubs or modern feeling craft beer and ale houses, this place has got you covered.

"We absolutely loved the town and are already planning a return visit to try and get the rest of it done."
