Greek takeaway shuts its doors less than two years after opening

A Macclesfield takeaway has shut for good.
The Original Greek Souvlaki on Mill Lane has announced its permanent closure.
It comes just a year and a half after it first opened its doors, in December 2024.
A Facebook post shared on Saturday, May 30, reads: "After much consideration, we would like to inform our customers that The Original Greek Souvlaki will be permanently closing its doors from May 30, 2026.
"We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of our customers for your support, loyalty, and custom. It has been our pleasure to serve the local community and share our passion for authentic Greek food with you.
"We are incredibly grateful for the friendships, memories, and experiences that have been created through the business, and we will always cherish the support you have shown us.
"Thank you for being part of our journey."
