Independent travel agency finds new home in former Halifax bank

An independent travel agency is on the move.
Henbury Travel has announced it will soon be relocating to a new home on Chestergate in Macclesfield town centre.
It will take over the former Halifax bank, which closed in March 2024.
Managing director Richard Slater said: "We want our new home to be smart and fresh, but still comfortable, friendly and homely.
"Because our greatest asset isn't the desk somebody sits at, it's the person sitting on the other side of it.
"We might be moving into a bigger shop, but we'll still be the same Henbury Travel.
"The same people, the same friendly service, and the same determination to find you the right holiday at the right price.
"We genuinely can't wait to welcome you into our new home!"

Mr Slater founded Henbury Travel in 2011, starting out at home after being made redundant.
In 2018, the firm opened its first high street branch, at 127 Chestergate.
By 2023 they had outgrown that space and moved along to 42 Chestergate.
Now they are ready to expand once again, expected to open at the former Halifax bank branch in mid-to-late October, with an exact date to be confirmed nearer the time.
Mr Slater added: "The high street has changed enormously over the past 15 years. Bigger premises are now available on very different commercial terms and, in our case, we're getting considerably more space for around the same money.
"Our new landlord recently bought the building and has completely refurbished it, reshaping the premises around what we need, creating new staff and storage facilities and installing a completely new shopfront.
"That means we can move into premises that have effectively been prepared and made ready for us, rather than taking on a huge refurbishment project ourselves."
He continued: "We're being sensible with the inside too.
"Most of our existing furniture is coming with us. There's nothing wrong with it, so why spend tens of thousands of pounds replacing everything just for the sake of it?
"What we are getting is around twice the width of our current customer area, loads more glass for holiday inspiration and much more room for the customer events that have become so popular."
