Jacket potato store looks set to open in Macclesfield amid social media frenzy

The latest social media trend is coming to Macclesfield.
Signs for The Spud Lounge have gone up on Chestergate.
It looks set to take over the unit most recently occupied by UTEA, a bubble tea store.
The humble jacket potato has had somewhat of a resurgence in the last few months.
This is due in no small part to the success of TikTok accounts such as Spudman and SpudBros.
Their popularity online has resulted in people queuing for hours to get their hands on a baked potato.
Not much is yet known about the new business opening in Macclesfield, other than the name.
