Celebration is in the air in Macclesfield.

Residents, tenants, families and colleagues at Belong marked the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day on Thursday (May 8).

The care village on Kennedy Avenue got everyone together for a special fish and chips supper in their on-site bistro.

This was followed by live entertainment from Charlie Churchill.

Staff at the dementia specialists also created a special display showcasing personal photographs and paperwork from the World War Two era.

Anna Seaton, experience coordinator at Belong Macclesfield, said: "We spent the day enjoying each other's company before the fabulous entertainment.

"The Second World War was such a significant period in our customers' lives and we are pleased to honour this incredible generation who fought for our country and sacrificed so much for us."
