Joy Division: New Ian Curtis mural comes to Macclesfield music shop
Macclesfield's fourth Joy Division-related street art has cropped up in the town.
Margin Music, of Market Place, is a music instrument shop and recital space in the heart of the town centre.
Now, they have a mural of Ian Curtis to grace the entrance of their shop.
While Ian Curtis did not live to buy instruments from the store - which opened in 1986, six years after his death - it is the latest of a recent flurry of love for the Macclesfield raised musician.
Macclesfield Nub News reached out to Margin Music founder Mary Kirkpatrick to find out more.
"Thank you to The Postman artist for the great mural," she said.
"The response has been amazing, with lots of positive messages.
"Anything that puts Macc town centre on the map has to be a good thing.
"We are looking to stock more Joy Division merchandise in the future."
Margin Music had recently touched the community with a heartfelt Facebook post about why you should support independent businesses, and this new mural should further cement what makes independent businesses so special.
The mural came about as "Trevor Stokes [who hosts an unofficial Macclesfield Joy Division tour] got in touch, prompted by my Facebook post about the future of the shop the previous week, looking to do something to help," revealed Mary.

Macclesfield's other three Joy Division murals are located on Mill Street, proper sound on Chestergate, and a portion of the street art electricity block at the Churchill Way carpark.
