By Alex Greensmith 23rd Sep 2021
Postponed in 2020 due to the Pandemic, the fundraising Macclesfield Bikeathon is back.
The go-your-own pace cycling event promises to be a fab day out, with the added good-feeling of raising for a Macclesfield non-profit.
The event founded by Macclesfield biking business Allgood Cycling, is an all-ages and all-abilities charity cycle.
Entrants choose between at 12 mile family ride from Market Place, or 33 and 64 mile bike rides deep into the Cheshire Plain.
Macclesfield Town Council are supporting Tytherington company Allgood Cycling with the organisation of this years Bikeathon.
All proceeds will go to Macclesfield good cause Just Drop In, a service offering support and help to young people in the area aged 12-25.
The Bikeathon takes place on the Saturday October 23 2021.
Everything is signposted to ensure competitors don't get lost, with feed stations along the way stationed by friendly volunteers and non-riding family members.
A finishers pack greets entrants upon return to Market Place.
Macclesfield companies will offer food stalls, stationary bikes that blend juice, face painting, and a Bike Doctor will be on hand to help answer any queries on bike maintenance.
Just Drop In will also have a physical presence on the day, and a few prize giveaways will occur.
