A Macclesfield bar is to shut after 15 years.

The Snowgoose has announced it will permanently close its doors after service on Friday, July 31.

The decision comes amid 'economic challenges'.

A Facebook post shared by the venue reads: "To our dear friends and patrons, it is with a heavy heart that we announce The Snowgoose will be closing its doors permanently on Friday, July 31, at midnight, due to economic challenges.

"When we opened in 2011, our goal was to create a warm space for great drinks and good company.

"Thanks to you, we shared countless laughs, celebrations, and unforgettable nights.

"Serving this community has been the honor of a lifetime.

"Please join us for our final week as we raise a glass to the memories we built together."
