Macclesfield: Langley-based photographer Chelsea Shoesmith receives award
A Macclesfield photographer has been awarded as one of the three best in the town.
Wedding, portrait and branding photographer Chelsea Shoesmith has been rated in the top three Macclesfield photographers on ThreeBestRated.com.
Originally from Poynton, Chelsea has been in the business since she was a teenager.
She has photographed the cyclist Joanna Rowsell MBE, and King Charles (in 2018 when visiting the restaurant at HMP Styal Prison).
Macclesfield Nub News met with Chelsea to find out more.
"I specialise in creating bright and modern photography," she said.
"My aim is to offer an unrivalled experience and quality to my clients.
"After 15 years experience, I am confident I can make some incredible memories for you.
"I love the fact in a world where you can buy anything you want, photography is something that is pretty priceless. And the fact it is pretty accessible to anybody makes it appealing too.
"Going into someone's house and seeing the pictures I took on the wall, is such an incredible feeling.
"Knowing that your picture is the one they put above their fireplace is one of the favourite parts of the job. It is such a special moment.
"I like the fact that people put their trust in me. I have a front row ticket to people's best days of their life."
Chelsea's first professional gig was when she was 17, in the world of corporate photography.
She has shot newlyweds in many corners of the world including Greece, Italy, and Spain last year, and later this summer will be heading to France
"My first wedding was three days after my 17th birthday, and it led on from there," she recalled.
"I've probably done over 500 weddings."
She shoots at Macclesfield wedding venues Heaton House Farm, Hilltop Country House, Sutton Hall, The Plough Inn in Eaton, Adlington Hall, Shrigley Hall, and a farm in Wincle.
Most recently, she has shot weddings at Jodrell Bank, who recently announced a new weddings package.
"I moved here to Macclesfield in 2021, and in 2022 I moved to Langley," she said.
"I feel like Macclesfield is a city in the countryside, it has got everything I need.
"I don't think people realise quite how beautiful it is."
In the future, she would like to do more travel photography and work with larger companies.
Local businesses she has worked with in Macclesfield include, Chestergate Bistro, Sylk Fitness Therapy, Carla Gilder Fitness, Robinson's Brewery, AstraZeneca, Alderley Analytical in Alderley Park and Nicholson Jones Sutton Solicitors.
She has done complimentary photography for Macclesfield charity Windyway Trust, as well as Ollie's Army in Poynton.
"I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has supported me for allowing me to have the best job in the world."
"I love the fact I can work for myself, and I am photographing memories for people which can be passed down for generation after generation."
She works seven days a week, with family portraits and wedding photos being popular at the weekend.
Her favourite type of wedding is shooting on farms, or at someone's home.
