Macclesfield-based Superbike Factory has entered administration (Credit: Nub News)

A Macclesfield-based used motorbike retailer has entered administration.

Michael Lennon, James Saunders and Robert Halliday of KR8 Advisory Ltd were appointed as joint administrators of Superbike Factory Group Limited and Superbike Factory Limited on Monday, July 20.

A statement on the Superbike Factory website says they have 'ceased to trade with immediate effect'.

"The affairs, business and property of the companies are being managed by the joint administrators, who act as agents of the companies and without personal liability," the statement adds.

It is understood that hundreds of members of staff have been made redundant as a result of the move, with no pay.
