An independent Macclesfield travel agency is celebrating after receiving some national recognition.

Henbury Travel has been named a finalist in the Travel Gossip Travel Agent Awards 2026 for High Street Agency of the Year – North West.

The nomination reflects the dedication of the Chestergate agency's team, whose knowledge, professionalism and commitment to customer service have helped establish the agency as one of the region's most respected independent travel businesses.

Managing director Richard Slater said: "Being selected as a finalist is fantastic recognition for our retail team. Charlotte, Nicki and Kelly work incredibly hard every day to provide exceptional service and expert advice to our customers, and I'm immensely proud of what they've achieved.

"We're also incredibly grateful to our loyal customers, whose continued support has made recognition like this possible."

This isn't the only cause for celebration, however, with Richard himself having been presented with the Outstanding Contribution to the Industry award at the Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards 2026 earlier this month.

The award recognises his contribution to the industry over a career spanning more than 40 years.

Richard said: "While this award has my name on it, it truly belongs to the whole Henbury Travel team.

"I'd also like to thank our trusted travel partners and, most importantly, our wonderful customers for their continued support over the years."

These accolades are the latest in a string of national and regional achievements for Henbury Travel, including Travel Weekly's North West Small Travel Agency of the Year at the Agent Achievement Awards in 2022, Riviera Travel's Best North West Agent in 2025, and Riviera Travel's National Touring Holiday Champions in 2026.
