A clothing boutique is preparing to commemorate a milestone anniversary.

Victoria's Closet on Bond Street celebrates its 10th birthday this Saturday, January 24.

Owner Stephanie Victoria Connolly says she couldn't have done it without the support of her friends, family and of course, the customers.

She said: "A huge thank you to all of our loyal returning and new customers over the years."

Despite having had a presence in Macclesfield for a decade now, Victoria's Closet is still occasionally mistaken for a similarly named lingerie brand.

"I wish it was, I'd be a billionaire!" Stephanie said.

Macclesfield born-and-bred Stephanie says she began selling clothes from her bedroom long before officially launching the business.

After moving house she set up a 'home shop' where people could book appointments to visit her house and browse a selection of dresses.

Later, the business moved into small unit at Georgia House before relocating to its current premises on Bond Street, just as Covid hit.

"Possibly the worst timing but we made it through the tough times" she said.

"We got through it even though we had to close our doors on three different occasions."

Of course, Stephanie couldn't do it alone.

Helping run the show is her mum, Linda Connolly, and Michele Slack with plenty of support from her two boys, six-year-old Ruben and two-year-old Nico, as well.

Last year proved to be a difficult one for both the shop and Stephanie's family, with her father having passed away in September.

She said: "He was always in the shop and a big part of getting it to where it is today.

"He would be so proud that I've made it to 10 years and have many more to come!"

Stephanie and the team will celebrate the shop's 10th birthday on Saturday with a special event.

There will be free goodie bags for everyone who visits and golden tickets on offer, with the chance to win a free shop and a selection of gifts donated by local businesses.

Asked what the future holds for Victoria's Closet, Stephanie added: "We plan to have a renovation this year and open the side room into a completely new shop dedicated to my mum - Linda's Closet.

"She bosses me about every single day so needs her own range!

"We would love to know what our customers want to see more of - let us know!"
