Macclesfield: Could a new campsite come to Bosley?
A field in Bosley could become a new campsite.
Plans have been submitted to the Cheshire East Council website for land of Leek Road in Bosley.
It is for "use of land as a touring caravan and camping site (74 pitches), amenity/reception building, new access & ancillary works."
A planning document reads: "The site will have an open layout with gravel pitches served off a gravel access road. Low level lighting columns and electric hook-ups will also be provided. The only building will be the associated amenity/reception building."
"It will benefit the rural economy in terms of supporting the local economy and job creation. It will have positive effects on the local economy through the supply of goods and services to visitors and deliver additional potential spending within local shops, food, and drink outlets."
There are claims that a warden on-site will help with noise and odour complaints. The site is not far from businesses, and Bosley Reservoir.
Residents of Macclesfield and beyond have until the end of August to make any comments.
The proposals have just been posted online, but a Bosley resident has already raised objection on social media saying "This is a huge site, given the size of the village and lack of local amenities and likely to significantly increase traffic, noise, litter, as well as impacting upon the environment. If you would like to object to this, the reference number on Cheshire east planning website is: 23/2945M."
