A Macclesfield woman has started a new dog walking business.

Amber Leigh Perry-Williams has started Perry's Paws, a new dog walking and dog sitting business for her hometown of Macclesfield.

The Central Macclesfield resident, who went to All Hallows School, has been an animal lover all her life.

The business was started two weeks ago, and she is already close to fully booked for next month.

More than two million Brits adopted a pet during the UK's COVID-19 lockdowns, but now as people have returned to the office, there is a huge market for pet daycare.

Macclesfield Nub News met with Amber to find out what her new venture is all about.

"I've found that a lot of people have been looking for someone to dog sit in their own home", said Amber.

"They have been struggling to find someone. People prefer dogsitting in their own home as they know the dog is settled.

"You can get an hour dog walk, half an hour dog walk, hour dog walk, or all-day dog sitting services.

Amber is not the only Macclesfield business of this kind, but she is the newest. And she has big plans for the future of her business.

"I don't offer sitting at my own home yet, but I hope to in the future once I get the qualifications for it."

Amber can also do cat sitting and day-checks for other small animals.

Amber is also experienced with caring for horses, having rode them since she was a child.

She used to work in finance, but recently took the plunge to follow her passion in looking after animals.

"My favourite places to go dog walking around here are Alderley Edge and Macc Forest", added Amber.

"The River Bollin is a good one too as they can go and swim, and of course I walk the canal.

"But I'm also planning on getting a field to rent, as I am friends with lots of farmers.

"I will hope to put high fences and obstacles up in the field so I can take dogs there, let them off the lead for an hour and get some exercise."

Her rates are £10 for half an hour, £15 an hour, £30 for 9-5 daycare and £30 for a night (a limited time offer). For consecutive days, she charges £50, saving you a tenner.

She also has a launch offer where if a client has two dogs, instead of £15 each it will cost two for £20.

The lifelong dog owner is available seven days a week.
