There's a new place to get afternoon tea in Macclesfield town centre.

Once a tradition reserved for the upper classes, afternoon tea is now more accessible (and delicious) than ever, thanks to Chestergate eatery All Things Nice.

The Macclesfield cafe, bar and restaurant (at weekend evenings) have just launched their new afternoon tea menu.

It offers sandwiches, scones, a selection of cakes and tea all for just £20 per person.

You can also add Prosecco for just £5 each.

"We're delighted to start offering afternoon tea to the good people of Macclesfield," said All Things Nice Co-owner Tom Norris.

"Our sandwiches are mature cheddar cheese and homemade piccalilli, horseradish cream and roast beef, triple egg mayonnaise and salmon with pickled vegetables.

"You will always have scones, but the freshly-made cakes and pastries will be different every day. Today, it was a chocolate tiffin and a cherry and pistachio tart."

As well as all the sweets, the bread for the sandwiches are made by All Things Nice as well.

Afternoon tea at All Things Nice Macclesfield is available from 2pm Monday - Saturday, and requires booking 48 hours in advance.

Following the closure of Vic Campbell Cakes The Patisserie and The Copper Rooms over the last 18 months, All Things Nice are filling in a very delicious gap in the market for afternoon tea on Chestergate.

They join Georgian Tea Rooms as the second place on Chestergate's east side that currently serves afternoon tea.

They also recently introduced evening meals, with three small plates for £12.
