Macclesfield creative looking to make 3D-printed wheelchair for four-year-old with cerebral palsy

A Macclesfield creative has been trusted with an important task.
Beatrice Baguley, owner of Mini Monster Merch, is looking to create a Bluey-themed 3D-printed wheelchair for four-year-old River Goring-Geary.
River has right sided hemiplegic cerebral palsy, causing him pain and affecting his balance.
Mum, Hope Geary, said: "Although he is the happiest, most independent, little boy you'll ever meet, immediately putting a smile on many people's faces, he struggles with using his right side.
"His cerebral palsy means he is unbalanced and deals with pain a lot of the time.
"Simple things he does use up to three times as much energy as his peers, leaving him often exhausted."
She added: "I've been fighting River's corner since before he was born and I'm not giving up.
"Anything he needs to help him keep his independence and mobility, I'm on it.
"With the support and help from amazing people and companies such as Mini Monster Merch, we've got you Rivy!"

Macclesfield resident Hope explained that over the past year, River appears to have been getting worse on his feet, walking less and relying on pain medication more.
Now getting too big for his pram, Hope sought a wheelchair referral but was told he didn't meet the criteria.
That's when she came across MakeGood, a non-profit organisation that offers free designs for 3D-printed wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
Hope applied and coincidentally, Beatrice happened across the site just a few days later and offered to lend a hand.
"It must have meant to be for us to have been looking at the same website at the same time," said Hope.
Beatrice, 34, added: "I've never made something so big and important, but I am definitely up for the challenge!"
Wanting to help cover the costs of the filament required for the 3D printer, Hope has set up a GoFundMe page, which can be found here.
Any extra funds raised will go towards supporting other children in need of wheelchairs.
Beatrice will be sharing updates on the construction of the wheelchair on social media.
