One of Macclesfield's two job centres has submitted a planning application on Cheshire East Council.

The King Edward Street jobcentreplus, the older of the two jobcentreplus sites, wants to put in new windows.

The proposal is for "Replacement of existing dilapidated windows beyond conventional repair, with new timber sash and case windows that follow the original style, profile and colour of the original window design with improved thermal efficiency."

The application form describes the current windows as "Timber sash and case units, painted white with double and triple pane / astragal divisions across upper and lower sashes."

The proposed windows are described as "Double glazed units that improve thermal performance with retained original design of double and triple pane / astragal divisions for both."

upper and lower sash to match existing. Accoya sustainable softwood that exhibits high levels of durability, and suitable for timber windows

that are to be painted white to match original design.

There are three Listed buildings on he street, but 30 King Edward Street is not one of them.

If new windows were to be put in, it could make the experience of going to the job centre more pleasant for Macclesfield job seekers.

Residents can read and respond to the plans on THIS LINK, providing they reply by June 12.
