This Thursday 21st April to Sunday 23rd April, pubs and bars across Macclesfield are coming together for 'The Big Pink Weekend'.

Venues participating include The Swan With Two Necks, Nags Head, Shamrock Bar, G&T Bar, Earl Of Mercia, Melrose Avenue, Rumba and Porters Prince Of Wales.

Events include a booby quiz night, karaoke night, BBQ, live bands, DJ' and lots of fundraising pink drink promotions.

'The Big Weekend' has been organised by Keith Townley, one of the Paint Macc Pink fundraising team.

Keith wanted to say "We're really grateful for the support we've received from venues across Macclesfield excited to get involved. We want as many people as possible to come out this weekend and visit venues fundraising. Pink fancy dress is encouraged, but completely optional! We just want everyone to have fun and support a worthwhile cause that can affect us all'

Bring lots of spare change, Paint Macc Pink donation buckets will be in all participating venues, as well as wrist bands available for purchase. All fundraising supports the Prevent Breast Cancer charity.

Throughout April, local businesses and community groups across Macclesfield have been joining in the fun to help Paint Macc Pink.

Pink window displays, wear pink day at work days, pink cake baking, coffee mornings and donating prizes to raffles/tombola's. All this wonderful support is boosting awareness about breast cancer and fundraising for Prevent Breast Cancer charity, the only UK charity funding vital research solely aimed at preventing breast cancer.

Paint Macc Pink has been a month-long umbrella of events. Running to the 30th April with a dedicated 'Pink Treacle Market' taking place, rounding off events and marking the fantastic support we've received from everyone involved.

It not too late to hold your own Paint Macc Pink event. You can register your event via the website http://paintmaccpink.org.uk or by emailing [email protected].
