Macclesfield: French Bulldog has emergency medical care with help of local crowdfunder
A Chestergate pooch had his leg saved, in part thanks to a crowdfunder to cover his vet bills.
Stanley, a miniature black-furred Bulldog, has won over the hearts of the local community.
Long-serving Landlady at The Swan With Two Necks pub Wendy Smith rescued Stanley, after a horrifying start to his life.
This including frequent attacks by his own mother.
"He's such a darling the customers love him. They call him Stan the man," said Wendy.
Upton Priory-based dog lover Colin Taylor, who is also a patron of the Macclesfield pub, started the GoFundMe page to help out the poorly pet.
"Wendy rescued him and brought him home to The Swan where he has been a firm favourite with all the regulars," said fundraiser organiser Colin Taylor.
Due to his health condition, Wendy was therefore incapable of insuring him for his frail leg.
Consequently, local veterinary surgeons have now suggested for Stanley to have two operations, crucial for the preservation of his leg.
"This operations will cost approximately £1000 so to help Wendy pay for the operation, we asked if everyone could spare a little bit of cash no matter how small and let's help this gorgeous furball and his owner," added Colin.
"He's had one of the operations now but any donations are still welcome and greatly appreciated.
"Hopefully the leg will not cause him any further issues and it will be saved."
Since the creation of the campaign on, May 13, the Macclesfield community has come together and made made 16 donations, accumulating £210 for the surgery pivotal for the health of Stanley.
