Adam Schofield has launched his charity Christmas cards for the third year in a row, and he's selling them extra early this year to raise as much money as possible.

An artist from Greenside has launched a set of Christmas cards to raise money for a Macclesfield charity.

Since 2020, Adam Schofield (41) has sold locally-themed Christmas cards, and waived half of the profits to community charity Cheshire Streetwise.

This year, he has gone bigger and better than ever, launching five Christmas cards themed to Macclesfield, Prestbury and Bollington.

Local landmarks feature on the festive greetings cards, such as a Yuletide-themed White Nancy card, or South Park in the snow.

"Traditionally small businesses like myself earn more at Christmas so it was the right thing to do my bit for charity", said Adam.

"And Christmas is a time of giving as well. So it is great to be working again with Cheshire Streetwise for my charity Christmas cards.

"Fifty per cent of all profits will go to them."

Other individual card designs include Macclesfield Town Hall, clad with the famous Christmas tree on Market Place, Tegg's Nose in Winter, and a Prestbury village scene.

A single card costs £2, whereas a pack of all five costs just £5.50.

Adam has raised £610 over the past two Christmases for Cheshire Streetwise, and hopes this year will be his most successful one yet.

"I'm not making as much on it myself this year as the cost of paper has gone up by about a third this year," he added.

"But I didn't want to raise the price of the cards, to not affect the charity.

"However, I have launched a brand new online shop on my website which costs less for me to use. I used to use Etsy, which would take more commission than selling the cards on my own website.

"If you can't wait for delivery, you can collect the cards from Adam's studio for free.

"The cards are plastic free if you buy them from my online shop. They can also be found at the Macclesfield Visitor Information Centre.

"Thank you to everyone in Macclesfield for their support."

"Adam is amazing and has a big community heart", she said.

"The money he has raised for us in the past couple of years has paid for a Christmas meal that we do for anybody who is homeless or struggling.

"During the height of the pandemic, that was so useful as due to COVID we were making homemade meals for the community from Calvary Church, which meant when we gave out the food parcels we were able to give out a full Christmas meal to every person we have been working with.

"Cheshire Streetwise aims to give people in our community who don't have a voice, a voice, and make sure they can be heard."
