Every week, we will showcase a job opportunity in the Macclesfield area. But this week - we are profiling TWO very similar roles in the Finance and Financial Services departments at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

The employer is East Cheshire NHS Trust, and the successful candidates will work from the Victoria Road hospital in both.

This first opportunity will be of interest to the youthful end of the job market, with an entry-level role as a Financial Services Assistant.

Role 1: Financial Services Assistant

For a full-time permanent role as an Financial Services Assistant, you must be highly numerate and IT proficient.

The lucky candidate of this Macclesfield job will need to be a strong communicator and in particular able to communicate with staff, other NHS bodies, shared service provision, along with suppliers and debtors as required.

This communication will be part of being an overall interactive team player, who is able to complete accurate reconciliations and capable of prioritising workload effectively.

"We are looking for a highly motivated, confident and flexible individual looking to develop their career in NHS finance," the listing said.

"The post holder will provide high calibre financial support to the Trust's financial services team. This is a key role in supporting the regular day to day and monthly processes carried out by the department, and in the development of the Trust's financial systems and processes.

"The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop personally and professionally. Training will be provided where required. We expect candidates to be passionate, flexible and hard–working, seizing this opportunity to develop knowledge and skills within the operation of an NHS provider Trust.

Study support will be considered for candidates looking to continue with their professional development."

You'll work from the 2nd floor of New Alderley House at Macc Hospital. You are responsible to the Deputy Financial Accoutant/Accounts Payable Team Leader. You are accountable to the Financial Accountant.

The salary is £19,737 - £21,142 Per Annum.

Role 2: Assistant Financial Accountant - Treasury

The second job title for those seeking to use their numeracy skills for our National Health Service is an Assistant Financial Accountant.

This permanent full-time role pays £24,907 - £30,615 Per Annum.

The successful candidate will be Association of Accounting qualified - or equivalent - to be considered for this role.

If you are comfortable in working with finance, including dealing with with those from a finance and non-finance background, then this could be the gig for you.

The selected Assistant Financial Accountant must be able to work accurately to tight deadlines.

Their strong accounting skills must come with an enthusiasm to work in a team, and to be competent to compile papers to support the Trust's financial position monthly and annually.

The chosen candidate will posses heaps of self-motivation, along with a willingness to develop personally and professionally are also desired traits.

They'll be responsible to the Financial Accountant, who partakes a similar but more senior role to them. They will hold the Associate Director: Financial Services employee to account.

"We are looking for an ambitious and talented individual to join our team in a role that offers excellent personal and career development, including study support (to the right candidate) and a first class remuneration package, said the listing.

"This is varied job role which includes technical, management, financial and treasury accounting.

"You must manage the relationship with shared service provisions with external organisations for debtors and treasury.

"The post will also play a key operational role as part of the financial services team in producing monthly returns within the appropriate timescales and legal requirements.

"The post holder will play a key role in supporting the management of the Trust's capital expenditure programme.

"This Includes the preparation of the monthly capital expenditure, and the provision of general management accounting support to the Senior Financial Accountant, including the investigation and resolution of queries and maintaining the Trust's fixed asset register."
