Marks and Spencer are moving out of town this week.

On Tuesday November 29 the Mill Street food and clothing store will close their doors for the last time.

The following day, the new food-only M&S will open as the third store ready at the Barracks Mill Retail Park.

The Mill Street building is being marketed as a 'mixed use' property, which could mean a mixture of business and accommodation at the vacant unit. No parties are confirmed to move in as of yet.

All job vacancies have been taken, with some staff taking up a role at the new store.

However it is not all bad news for Macclesfield's high street, as just two days after Marks and Spencer will close, another big retail name is moving in.
