Macclesfield: Mottram St Andrew farmshop eyes expansion
A farmshop in rural Macclesfield has applied to expand their premises.
Cherry Tree Farm, home to SK Ten Farmshop and Butchery on Lees Lane, had initially gained approval to expand their farmshop back in 2017.
However, permission lapsed after three years, just as COVID was impacting the economy. Meaning the Mottram St Andrew business would have to apply for permission again.
Now, six years after Cheshire East Council first approved the store's expansion, the expansion could become a reality.
The proposed extension will see the shop span 66 square metres, and be able to expand the breadth of products on offer.
A planning document states: "A small amount of ground adjacent to the west side of the existing building will need to be excavated to allow for the construction of the proposed extension."
The majority of goods sold in the shop are made from a 20 mile radius of the site.
Known for their artisan meat, with some steak cured in 'Cheshire's first Himalayan salt chamber', you can find more about the business on their website.
