Macclesfield named among best places to live in England in new list
Macclesfield has featured in a superlative list of top places to live in England.
In a new rundown produced by online magazine Muddy Stilettos, Macclesfield featured among the top 300 best places to live in the nation.
The magazine praised Macclesfield's "mix of old and new businesses", and "fresh and innovative foodie scene".
As well as a glowing write-up, the magazine includes a detailed rundown of the best places to eat, shop, and have fun around the area.
The review continues: "Macclesfield is having a moment. [...]
"Squirrelled away in the hills on the fringes of the Peak District, Macclesfield feels a whole world away from neighbouring Alderley Edge.
"Yes, the temperature definitely drops up here, but there’s a fiery creative crowd behind the scenes who are conjuring a number of trailblazing restaurants, top-notch watering holes and independent shops.
"And with miles of wide open space, an under-the-radar vibe and a roaring community spirit, Macclesfield is one to watch."
Some locations which were singled out for particular mention were the Picturedrome, Treacle Market, The Silk Museum, Cinemac, and more.
The magazine's list was organised by area, with Macclesfield featuring in the Cheshire category.
Other local locations which made the top 300 included Alderley Edge, Knutsford, and Stockport.
The locations were judged by the Muddy Stilettos editors, many of whom live in or nearby the areas on the list.
