Macclesfield Remembers: New poppy symbols painted at Bollington Memorial Garden
In honour of Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, the pathway in the Bollington Memorial Garden has been adorned by two striking poppy motifs.
The motifs were organised by Bollington Town Council with support from Cheshire East Highways, kind permission from ANSA and laid by L&R Lining.
The Town Mayor and Chair of the Royal British Legion (Bollington Branch) met with a Highways Officer and Andy Pell of L&R Lining, who donated their time and expertise, for an official unveiling of the motifs.
The Town Mayor, Cllr John Stewart is delighted with the project.
"Thank you to all those involved in arranging the poppies in time for Remembrance," he said.
Bollington Memorial Garden is located on SK10 5QT.
Mark Fearn, Chair of the Royal British Legion (Bollington Branch) was also full of compliments.
"I'd like to say a huge thank you to Harriet Worrell of Bollington Town Council for arranging the two poppy motifs to be laid in the memorial gardens," he said.
"They look fantastic. A very thoughtful gesture."
The project was kept local, with Cheshire company L&R lining being involved in the project, along with Cheshire East Council's Middlewich based contractors ANSA.
