A lunch-by-bike delivery service has been launched by Macclesfield's eLOV.

The cargo bike company will deliver to anywhere in the surrounding Macclesfield area.

Macclesfield businesses reducing their carbon emissions and impact on the environment already use eLOV.

The new start-up are now encouraging hungry Maxonian's to get their lunch sent to them via bike, and it currently costs just £3 to deliver.

Russ Hope (43), Owner of and Director of eLOV spoke to Macclesfield Nub News.

"We deliver anything and everything. We exist to replace unnecessary car and van journeys," said Russ.

"Our bikes are 100% zero emissions, so we can deliver anything from a bag full of coffee to veg boxes to plastic-free refill shopping.

"And today we are excited to launch our lunchtime delivery service for Macclesfield.

"This lunch service is ideal for those stuck at home in a meeting on video call, or stuck in the office.

"It is a way to bring people their favourite lunches and cakes, with no impact on the planet as well.

"We can even deliver to West and South Park, as we are trying to encourage people to support the local town centre through our cargo, while at the same time enjoying the outdoors and our fantastic local town parks.

"And thanks to the app what3words, we can deliver it literally to your picnic blanket. Lots of delivery companies can't do that, because they use private cars.

"But we can also deliver to a standard address as well.

"We can cycle your order to Langley, Sutton, Macc Forest and Prestbury.

"As I'm speaking, we're just delivering cardboard to a honey company in Bollington.

"We'll deliver to anywhere in the area, as long as it isn't from Monocole Deli to Edinburgh. But it is unlikely that is going to happen!"

As the world moves towards a carbon-zero society, eLOV is hoping to expand beyond Macclesfield in the future.

The local delivery company is completely zero emission, and takes 80% trips on bike, whereas the remaining 20% is by electric vehicles and for bigger deliveries.

"We're not restricted on the amount so if someone wants to buy 30 sandwiches from their favourite Macclesfield café, we can do that," Russ added.

"And the delivery price will remain the same as it would be for one sandwich.

"We just want to thank everyone in and around Macclesfield that has supported us so far."

The three pound launch offer will last for three weeks, and from then it will cost just a fiver for the sustainable delivery service.
