Any Macclesfield event can be listed for FREE on our website in the Macclesfield Nub News What's On section.

But each week, we highlight an event in further detail.

The extension of coronavirus restrictions on indoor events may persist, but there are still plenty of outdoor events going ahead.

And this week's featured Event of the Week is out at the Grade I-listed Gawsworth Hall in Macclesfield.

The Church Lane country house will host Sir Ranulph Fiennes on July 1.

Named 'the world's greatest living explorer' according to the Guinness Book of Records, the 77-year-old has spent his life in pursuit of extreme adventure, risking life and limb in some of the most ambitious private expeditions ever undertaken.

And as part of his UK-wide outdoor tour, you can hear from the man himself at the unique outdoor event in Macclesfield, in front of the house which has roots back to the 15th century.

Named after his 1987 book Living Dangerously, Sir Ranulph offers a candid chat travesing through his life, from his early years to today.

He was the first to reach both Poles, the first to cross the Antarctic and Arctic Ocean, and the first to circumnavigate the world along its polar axis.

These are just two highlights of his many record-breaking achievements.

All tickets are just £30 plus a small transaction fee of £2. Please note, Macclesfield Nub News does not take responsibility for any pricing changes.

"Bring a blanket or camping chair and enjoy this pioneer of exploration tell his unparalleled story from a large stage set up in front of the ancient Hall," said event organisers.

"Picnics are allowed, but please note this event is not covered, and will go ahead if it is raining.

"Gates open at 2pm and the performance starts at 7.30pm. No children under six years old may attend."

Gawsworth Hall is just a ten minute and four mile drive from Macclesfield town centre.

The event takes place tomorrow, as of publishing the article, and tickets are scarce.

So please purchase now to avoid disappointment.

Tickets can be printed at home following purchase.

Book them here.
