A Macclesfield eco-friendly CBD café is celebrating six months of business, which claims it could be the first CBD food takeaway in the UK.

The Campervan, located on 26 Sunderland Street, was started with a philosophy of great food, enhanced with cannabidiol (CBD) as an option to your meal or drink.

While CBD comes from the cannabis plant, it does not contain THC, which is the illegal properties that gets a user high.

Conversely, CBD has huge benefits which helps with physical, mental and emotional ills.

Macclesfield Nub News went to visit, and ordered some CBD-powered coffee and cake ahead of their half-birthday.

"We have been thoroughly supported by the people of Macclesfield from the time of opening during lockdown and are so pleased to be six months into this new business," said owner Sami Nazari.

"Our mission is to create great food and coffee that takes you on a mouthwatering journey and is enhanced with the option of adding our own high quality CBD oil to bring some peace and love to you."

"At The Campervan, you create your food, we create your idea. You decide which wrap, burger or dog you want to eat."

Customisation options for their mains range from seven types of bread and five types of cheese. Both of these have vegan options.

Additionally, their bacon is halal, and they are doing everything they can to reduce plastic waste for the health of Mother Earth.

Their hot drinks and dishes can also be fuelled with a low or high strength drops of CBD.

Macclesfield Nub News recommends the turmeric latte and CBD bliss balls.

You don't have to have CBD in your order, which also could include Buddha bowls, macaroni cheese and items from the kids menu.

"One of our best-sellers are the amazing CBD bliss balls made from high quality ingredients like nuts, seeds, cocao, berries and dates," added The Campervan's Greta Sherratt (pictured).

"All of which are so good for you and taste delicious."

"Recent additions to our menu are high quality protein shakes with the vegan choice of hemp, or for those bodybuilders, whey protein.

"Our coffee is artisan blend which has flavours of chocolate and caramel running through it."

The Campervan is open daily from 11am - 9pm and you can order direct on 01625 613926.

The Campervan's food is also available to order through the Macclesfield Eats App, which also celebrated their sixth-month birthday recently.

You can also follow the Macclesfield eatery on Facebook, where they have recently posted a job for a chef at the Sunderland Street eatery.

Macclesfield Nub News congratulates Sami, Greta and The Campervan staff on this milestone for their business.

Greta Sherratt (pictured), also runs Macclesfield wellness organisation Elf Meditation.

She is hosting a Meditation in the Woods event on July 15 in Bollington, to connect with the Earth and meet new people.
