The town centre will be hosting free activities for families throughout the summer.

Macclesfield Town Council has confirmed the return of Do Something summer.

Every Wednesday, Market Place will host a free activity from 11am to 3pm, with everything from circus skills to science experiments.

To make getting into town even easier, certain bus routes will be free to ride on those days - D&G routes 10, 19 & 19A and High Peak routes 14 and 14A.

Mayor of Macclesfield, councillor James Barber-Chadwick, said: "We are excited to bring back our Do Something Summer events, a programme of free summer activities for children and families in Macclesfield.

"The events were extremely popular last year and we are bringing back some of the kid's favourites such as the climbing wall and Mad Science.

"We are really pleased to be able to offer children and families an activity every week during the summer holidays as well as the free to ride buses as we know school holidays can be an expensive time.

"We also realise that it is great for children to have that opportunity to have some fun, enjoy the outdoors, spend time with friends and maybe learn how to juggle in the process!
