Macclesfield Silkmen beat nearby town Sandbach last night (Tuesday) in the first round of the Cheshire Cup.

The full-time score was a draw, 2 – 2, but Macclesfield won 5 – 4 in the penalty shoot-out at the match in front of a crowd of 401.
