New nursery-aged ballet sessions are coming to Macclesfield.

International children's dance school, babyballet®, will opened its doors in Macclesfield for the first time this month.

Former cruise ship performer 'Miss Ellie' Land has dropped anchor this new year with a new venture that will get little feet moving.

The new Macclesfield classes are scheduled to run at Broken Cross Club, and will nurture key development skills for your little one.

Miss Ellie is thrilled to give boys and girls between the ages of six months and six years the chance to express themselves and learn through play at her new local dance school.

It's a dream come true for Miss Ellie, as she'll be bringing the one-of-a-kind classes to her hometown.

"I found my first true love when I started dancing at five years old," she recalled.

"When I was old enough to make dance my career, I took to the high seas, performing around the Mediterranean and Europe on cruise ships.

"Then I returned home to continue my career on land and I worked in all the beautiful theatres around the UK, Holland, India and Scandinavia."

Miss Ellie is delighted to be setting sail with a new business that will also plug the gap after an especially difficult 20 months for education and extracurricular activities.

Getting involved in artistic and physical activities is something she strongly believes is a vital factor for young children's development.

"Having worked for babyballet® for five years now, I jumped at the chance to open my own school close to home," the Macc ballet teacher said.

"It's incredibly rewarding for both us as teachers and their families to see the children have so much fun whilst their confidence grows each week."

The first Broken Cross class will be at 10am on Monday 22 February, and costs just £6.50 per child. The weekly sessions will also come to the Tytherington Family Working Church, on Sandwich Drive, the day after the Broken Cross debut.

A full timetable and reserving your son or daughter's place can be found here.

Miss Ellie hopes her passion for dance will be projected onto a new generation of children across Macclesfield.

"Children shouldn't have to attend elitist schools to learn and develop their love of dance," she added.

"We teach in a relaxed, welcoming and inclusive environment that nurtures children's development, helping them express who they are. It's time to see those twinkling toes in 2022!"

Miss Ellie (30) who has lived most of her life in Macc, will provide award-winning pre-school dance classes to babies, toddlers and children from 18 months to four-and-a-half years old in various venues across Macclesfield and Wilmslow.

The sessions claim to be enriching and provide vital skill development for your child, in a fun, relaxed and safe environment.

With a real focus on learning through play, the unique babyballet® syllabus offers four key stages of ballet classes where every child can build their confidence and social skills, learning manners, discipline and respect while developing their basic ballet technique, coordination, musicality, balance, posture and rhythm.

They'll give children the chance to dance, gain confidence and shine, in a fun, caring and supportive environment.

She also does other sessions locally at Festival Hall in Alderley Edge, and the Wilmslow Methodist Church.
