They'll soon be live music, science and comedy at Jodrell Bank for the first time since 2019, as Bluedot Festival have confirmed their 2022 line-up.

The Macclesfield event, taking place in the parish of Siddington amid the backdrop of the Lovell Telescope, have announced their full festival line-up.

Meanwhile, electronic duo Groove Armada will join ethereal Icelandic singer Björk as one of the festivals headliners.

Scottish indie legends Mogwai and 2010s London band Metronomy will also perform headline sets.

Elton John's 'new favourite band' Yard Act are among the smaller acts performing across Bluedot's stages.

The Charlatans Tim Burgess will perform a solo set, and actress Maxine Peake will even make a cameo appearance on stage with synth collective The Eccentronic Research Council.

Comedians Stewart Lee and Adam Buxton are household names leading the non-musical bill.

They'll also be art experiences, and Jodrell Bank's information centre will be open throughout the four day music festival.

Tickets go on sale from 10am on Friday February 4.

The first Bluedot Festival was held in 2016. Previous acts to steal the show at the Macclesfield music festival include The Flaming Lips, New Order, and Public Service Broadcasting.

Before this, Jodrell Bank has had a rich musical history, with the Macclesfield astronomy site being the setting for countless music videos.

Earlier in the week, the festival organisers jokingly covered up their line-up in black bars, as a nod to the Metropolitan Police's alleged redacting of the Sue Gray report.
