An elderly man has died following a crash on Christmas Eve.

Cheshire Police are appealing for information following a 'serious collision' in Macclesfield.

At around 8pm on Tuesday, December 24, a purple Alfa Romeo Mito struck a pedestrian on Chester Road.

The pedestrian, a 70-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Sadly, he died the next day, December 25.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police, or anyone with dashcam that may help with the investigation, should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website quoting IML 1992007.
