Two people have been arrested following a burglary at Bollington Fire Station.
Cheshire Police have confirmed that a 38-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, both from Manchester, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
It follows reports of a burglary at the fire station on Albert Road, believed to have occurred between 9.45pm and 11pm on Wednesday, April 15.
During the incident suspects gained entry to the station and stole cutting equipment, damaging a fire engine in the process.
Speaking at the time, Steve Barnes, Assistant Chief Fire Officer at Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: "It is extremely disappointing to see Bollington Fire Station targeted in this manner.
"This has damaged both our premises and a vital community asset.
"The kit taken is essential equipment that is designed to save lives in the event of road traffic collisions, which should be in the service of the community at times of need.
"Fortunately we have been able to quickly repair the fire engine and return it to operational duty, helping to keep Cheshire safe from fire and other emergencies.
The two suspects remain in police custody as of Thursday afternoon, April 23.
