A man accused of using threatening and abusive language is due to appear in court.

Matthew Nin was arrested outside the Old Millstone pub on Waters Green on Thursday, July 2.

It came after police received reports of man behaving 'aggressively' in the Mill Street area of Macclesfield.

The 40-year-old has since been charged and is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court later this year.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 7pm on Thursday, July 2, police were called to reports of an aggressive man on Mill Street, Macclesfield.

"Police attended and a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of use of threatening and abusive language.

"Matthew Nin, of no fixed abode, has since been charged with the offence and is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court on September 17, 2026."
