Future students have been exploring their new campus.

Macclesfield College hosted its annual Student Welcome Day on Monday, July 6, with registrations up 13% on the previous year.

Despite England's early morning clash with Mexico, hundreds of incoming students arrived bright and early to get a taste of college life ahead of starting their courses this September.

Stephanie Allan, Macclesfield College's marketing and communications manager, said: "It was fantastic to welcome so many future students onto campus and see the excitement building ahead of September.

"Starting college is a big milestone, so it's important that students have the chance to meet their teachers, make new friends and become familiar with their new surroundings before the academic year begins.

"There was such a positive atmosphere across campus and we're looking forward to welcoming everyone back for enrolment next month."

The event marks an important milestone for students as they begin their journey with the college, giving them the opportunity to build confidence, familiarise themselves with their new surroundings and look ahead to the exciting opportunities that await them in September.

Throughout the day, students met their teachers, explored the campus, took part in course activities and got to know their future classmates.

With inflatables on the front field and activities taking place across campus, there was a real buzz as students enjoyed their first taste of college life.

Enrolment at Macclesfield College opens at 10am on Thursday, August 20, when students will officially begin the next stage of their journey.
