Meet the first baby born in over three years at Macclesfield Maternity Unit
The first baby to be born at Macclesfield Hospital since their maternity unit reopened has been born.
On Monday afternoon, a little lad called Oakley was welcomed into the world. The boy was born via caesarean section at 38 weeks weighing 7.3lb.
Proud parents Stacey and Lewis were delighted to deliver their second baby at Macclesfield.
Especially as their first son was born one week after the unit closed in April 2020, at Stockport's Stepping Hill following an emergency caesarean section.
Macclesfield Maternity Unit had been shut since March 2020 until this week.
Stacey, who lives in the Macclesfield parish of Rainow said, "I was so thrilled that my second baby boy was born here as we have a very close connection at the hospital."
"I am absolutely delighted with the care I have received from the team and my fantastic birth experience has reassured my friends who live locally and are due to give birth soon. We are all very pleased Macc is Back!"
To mark the occasion of the reopening and celebration of the first few babies born, Beech Lane's Jola Designs donated personalised babygros reading ''Macc is Back' and hampers for staff and families.
