Motorcyclist dies after crash on A555 between Cheadle and Poynton

A motorcyclist has died following a crash on the A555.

Emergency services were called to reports of a crash on the Manchester Airport Relief Road, between Poynton and Cheadle, at around 12.40pm on Sunday, April 26.

A male motorcycle rider, in his 30s, died at the scene.

There are not believed to have been any other vehicles involved.

Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit has launched an investigation and officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

"Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends," a spokesperson for the force added.

Anyone who saw the incident or has dashcam footage should call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741, quoting incident number 1398-26/04/2026.
