Five bands will duke it out to win a Battle of the Bands competition in Macclesfield this month.

Macclesfield Mayor Sandy Livingstone is coming up with alternative ways to draw attention and raise money to his Mayoral charities for the forthcoming year.

From riding a zip wire to hosting a charity 'Battle of the Bands' concert, the music-loving Mayor, who works for a housing association, is Macclesfield's Mayor until May 2025.

Five artists will duke it out in a Battle of the Bands Contest, at Cinemac, to raise money for the Mayor's two charities Macc Artspace and Space4Autism.

The event will take place this weekend, on Saturday September 14. The event is also organised by Choose Macc Festival founder Jo Lowes.

And today, the five competing bands have been confirmed.
