It is National Vegetarian Week until this Sunday 16th, where some meat-eaters have even been going vegetarian for the week.
While Macclesfield isn't known for their veggie or vegan food, we have shared five of the best accounts to follow on social media for all things veggie in our town.
Whether you are a lifelong veggie or just trying it for the week, we hope you can find a new favourite local vegetarian account to follow through this article.
Monocole Deli
Located on Chestergate, Monocole Deli is a vegan and vegetarian café which is open from Thursday to Saturday, 11-3. Their menu includes plant based cheeseburgers and facon and jalapeño grilled cheese. You can find more about on their Instagram, where they have over 1,500 followers. @thegardenofvedenDen Croke is a Macclesfield Dad who posts daily to his Instagram account. He has almost 3,000 followers that witness his stunning photography of wacky vegan creations. His dishes includes a microwaved vegan cake that looks like a burger, and a foraged garlic and chickpea crumpet burger. He has been described as the 'Willy Wonka of Vegan Food'. One to get inspired by with your own meatless cooking. We spoke with him last month.
@theveggiepiecompany
The Veggie Pie Company are a vegan and vegetarian pie business, ran by Joanne Hartle. They have nine pies on their menu that they currently hand-make and deliver across Macclesfield.
