A Manchester florist have shut their Macclesfield branch with immediate effect.

Flourish of 74 Chestergate were a unique flower store full to the brim with unique plants.

The east Chestergate shop has now shut, following an announcement on social media.

Parent company Flourish Manchester said: "It has been an extremely difficult decision to make as the whole team that have worked there really made the store part of the Chestergate community."

"It's the best decision for the business in the long term, logistically it just doesn't work for us anymore and the time required to operate Macclesfield has just become too much to handle, four stores is a lot to manage and give quality time to.

"It's a great little shop for someone and if anybody is interested in opening a plant/flower shop in Macclesfield let me know as there's a shop kitted out waiting for you!

"But for Flourish it's time to move on and focus our time on our Manchester shops. Again thank you to our customers for your support and for getting this shop off the ground.

"Thanks to each and every staff member who has work so incredibly hard to get that shop going, I wish circumstances were different and we could continue the journey. I know the decision is best for myself, the business and my family - this is just another part of our history and our journey. If you have followed us from the start you know we are always up to something.

"Any interested parties that are looking to open a flower and plant shop please email [email protected]. This business would be fantastic for an individual in a wonderful community."
