New pet food bank started by Macclesfield charity Windyway Trust
The cost of living crisis isn't just affecting humans, as proved by the creation of a pet food bank on a residential street in Macclesfield.
Animal charity Windyway Trust have opened their pet food bank at their furniture stock house on Crompton Road.
It was the idea of Warehouse Supervisor Rebecca Ions, who has helped out at the Macclesfield good cause for the past three years.
"The stocked shipping container unit, has food for dogs, cats and other small pets," she said.
"We've also got treats, bowls and coats if people need them as well.
"People can come and donate cans or bags of food at our two Windyway Charity shops on Chestergate, or they can come here [Crompton Road]."
All you need to do is fill in a form, which includes stating your reasons for using the service, such as the rising cost of living or unemployment. Just like a regular food bank.
The service is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10am-1pm.
"The response so far has been really positive", she added.
"Thank you to anyone who has donated or will donate."
The Pet Foodbank can be found to the right of the Windyway Trust Centre on Crompton Rd, Macclesfield, SK11 8EH.
