A new Alpine-themed bar has opened in Macclesfield.

Aspen's Bar is a small and cosy bar located in Duke's Court.

They hope to serve Christmas themed alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, attracting both families and the Christmas party crowd.

Three people will work at the new bar.

"Aspens is a pop-up ski chalet style bar which is open from now until the new year," said the bar.

"We're open seven days a week and have a late night licence.

"We'll be selling festive drinks like mulled wine, boozy hot chocolates and coffees.

"We like to think it is Macclesfield's own answer to the bars at Manchester's Christmas Market."

A unique selling point for Aspens is the double-pint beer steins, which add to the Alpine-feel of the bar.

"Everyone who has come in here has had a two-pint stein so far. They have gone down a storm", the bar added.

"There's nowhere else locally you can enjoy beers by the stein, and it took us ages to actually buy them. It has become a bit of a niche for us.

"The steins are kept at minus fifteen degrees Celsius so they will be nice and refreshing when you get to drink them. We have Peroni and Asahi on tap."

They also hold an industry night on Monday, with discounts for their fellow hospitality workers. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

Located where sports bar Remedy used to be, Aspen's still has a slight sporty flavour given the skiing equipment on the walls and the fact it will be showing the World Cup.

However, it is a brand new venue which while temporary, hopes to leave an impact on Macclesfield's nightlife culture.

"We're really excited for the Step into Christmas event in Macclesfield this Saturday and will be open for it", the bar also said.

"Duke's Court at the moment is known for late night trade but we wanted to offer something a little bit different so to get the Saturday shopping or family crowd in we've got board games to offer something a little bit different.

The new bar already has over 990 likes on Facebook. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

"My favourite drink we serve here is the baked apple pie cocktail, it has fresh cinnamon, cinnamon liquor and Jack Daniels Apple.

"The Kinder Bueno hot chocolate with Frangelico has been a big hit with customers."

They are also offering free hire for businesses to host their Christmas parties here. Just message them on Facebook for more info.
