Open day for independent gym between Macclesfield and Tytherington
A Macclesfield gym is to hold a free open day.
ISFitness, of Beech Lane, managed by Macclesfield resident Saz Morris, will open their doors to non-members so they can come and see what they are all about.
Saz, an experienced graphic designer, was never into exercise until she decided she wanted to go to a gym to meet new people.
Since then, she has lost a substantial amount of weight, and fell in love with all things fitness.
She has boxed competitively, dabbled in bodybuilding, and decided to turn it into a career.
"I wish I knew sooner how much fitness could change your life, she said.
"I got to the stage where I needed a change."
ISFitness, which turned six-years-old in June, is set to host an open day later this month to showcase what the gym is all about.
"We are having an open day on Treacle Sunday 1-4pm [July 28]," revealed Saz.
"You can meet the members, have a bite to eat, take part in competitions with a chance of winning prizes (including three months of free membership)."
ISFitness offers top class body transformation programmes, alongside strength and conditioning focus.
However, Saz wants the gym to be best-known for their community spirit, that will hopefully greet you upon arrival on the open day.
"IS stands for inner strength, the body achieves what the mind believes," said Saz.
"We are a gym that promises to get fit, whilst is having fun.
"We're for anyone and everyone, whether you are an elite athlete, or recovering from an illness.
"Above all you, will be welcomed with open arms.
"For many of our members, it is a place to socialise, with the added bonus of getting fit and strong in the process
"That is our USP. We are a gym where you can have fun and make friends."
The open day will help to communicate this message.
The age profile of their members spans from late teens to their seventies, many of which will be in attendance on the open day.
The competitions will be a way for people to try out their facilities e.g 'Fastest female to push half a mile on watt bike', and get used to the warm environment Saz wants ISFitness to provide to the clientele.
A bouncy castle will also be provided for the kids, given the fact you will have likely brought the family out into town with you, with the open day taking place at the same time as the Treacle Market.
"We did an open day last year that worked really well," she recalled.
"Because people don't know that we are here, it is about encouraging people to come and see us.
"The best advertisement is word of mouth. So come and meet the members and ask away.
The 'gym for everyone' has nine classes a week, from circuits, to boxing, to bootcamp.
There are four members of the ISFitness team, and each one can offer a one-to-one tailored fitness approach.
Whilst there are no classes at the weekend, the gym is open on a Saturday. (And indeed will be for the forthcoming open day, which is novel at the gym usually isn't open on a Sunday).
In the near future, the coaches are exploring more avenues, including mother and baby postnatal group coaching sessions, along with educational seminars.
Saz also wants to host more socials with their members outside of the gym - incorporating what she calls a 'work hard, play harder' philosophy - encouraging balance.
Aside their goals to champion socialising at the gym, cleanliness and free car parking are also big USPs.
"I would like to say a massive thank you for sticking with us through the hard times we have had through COVID and cost and living," said Saz.
"We have introduced a structured, low cost membership scheme to keep it affordable, giving you a lot for your money.
"Fitness is a very important part of people's lives, so it is essential that it is affordable."
