The owner of a new indoor play centre opening in Macclesfield has shared more details of what to expect.

Posters announcing the impending arrival of Teeny Town recently appeared on an empty unit at the Grosvenor Centre.

Now, Teeny Town owner Chloe Watkins has shed light on what exactly families can expect from the exciting new addition to the town's main shopping centre.

The 31-year-old early years educator said: "I am very excited to take on this venture!

"It is a completely new direction for me, but I have put so much time and thought into Teeny Town and I can't wait to open the doors and welcome everyone."

Chloe has over 15 years of experience working in the early years sector, as well as holding a BA honours degree in early childhood education.

She explained that she has had the idea of opening Teeny Town for several years now.

"After joining a local nursery and taking the children out into community, I very quickly noticed that Macclesfield was lacking an opportunity for children to play and learn," Chloe said.

"We would continue to visit the same locals spots with the children hoping there may be something different."

Chloe continued: "Teeny town is going to be a more intimate play centre that focuses on developing children's imagination.

"It will offer an area where parents can actually sit and have coffee whilst they watch their children play, instead of losing them in a huge soft play centre. It will be a place where children and parents can meet new people and meet up for play dates.

"Also, the play session will be capped, so the centre won't be overcrowded, allowing the children to play and explore all the areas."

Teeny Town will take over Unit 6 at the Grosvenor Centre, located opposite Boots, next to Greggs.

Once open, it will boast a role play village, a sensory area, messy play, a café and a breastfeeding space.

Chloe is aiming to have it up and running by mid-September, with updates on the opening to be shared on social media.
