Fire at rugby club being treated as arson

A fire at a rugby club is being treated as arson.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to a large refuse fire at Macclesfield RUFC on Priory Lane on Tuesday afternoon (May 20).
As the blaze is believed to have been started deliberately, police have been made aware.
A CFRS spokesperson said: "At present, it is believed this fire may have been ignited deliberately.
"Police have been informed.
"If you have any information, please report it.
"You can contact the Police online or by calling 101.
"You can also contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."

Four engines, one each from Bollington and Poynton and two from the Macclesfield station, arrived at the scene at around 4.45pm.
"Crews were called to a large refuse fire involving artificial grass and tyres which was well alight," the spokesperson added.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to dampen the flames, while a protective jet kept the fire from spreading to a nearby radio mast."
"At 8.40pm firefighters were still in attendance turning over the refuse and dampening down hot spots.
"A thermal imaging camera was used to monitor sources of heat."
The incident was closed at 9.09pm.
