Police are appealing for information following an assault in Macclesfield.

The incident took place between midnight and 2am on Monday 20 April, between Samuel Street, Park Green and Park Lane.

The victim was attacked by two men, and was later taken to hospital with facial injuries.

Police said one of the suspects was described as being potentially aged in his thirties to forties, with blond hair.

Police Constable Grace Chapman said:"The victim was concussed from the assault, but he can remember that there were plenty of people around at the time. One of them will have called an ambulance for the victim.

"I'd urge anyone who was there that night and who saw the assault take place, and whoever called the ambulance, to get in touch to help us find those responsible for this violent attack."

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website (www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us) quoting 26000309417.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
